Job Requirements
Degree level with technical bias; MBA or similar business degree a strong advantage
8 - 15 years in appropriate QA/QC discipline gained from a sourcing, retail or manufacturing background, preferably in Asia; at least 3 years management experience
Knowledge of European directives and standards; understanding of 3P service providers; good understanding of European retail environment and import buying and quality processes
Broad, technical understanding of a diverse number of manufacturing techniques and processes related to home improve/DIY products
Main Responsibilities:
Assist the Regional QA Manager in developing and implementing rolling 3-year QA strategies in support of business growth
Lead, manage and develop the category QA team, ensuring key people are in place to deliver the required growth
Work closely with others in Sourcing, Supply Chain and Vendor Development teams to ensure delivery of QA services and tasks on-time, to support project completion according to CPA and shipments OTIFEF
Ensure delivery of OSC and departmental KPIs within the agreed budget
Ensure OSC/OPCO quality procedures and working practices are fully aligned, understood and implemented by the team, appropriate internal stakeholders, OSC’s suppliers and inspection and test agents; ensure product specification, DCL and other required documentation is agreed and in use
Ensure compliance to established quality processes, ensure proper documentation is maintained; constantly optimize QA working practices and enhance processes where possible
Ensure strong relationship between QA team and the QC team exists so that FRI and DUPRO costs are minimized while DC-reject rates and First Time FRI pass rates achieve targets
Support the Vendor Assessment and Development Team in the assessment and performance of new and existing suppliers. Ensure assessment issues are acknowledged and resolved on a timely basis to facilitate commercial deadlines. Work with Suppliers, Merchandising, Supply Chain, VAD and the team in pursuit of continual improvement of the category supplier base
Acknowledge current/emerging quality/technical issues and ensure resource/technical
competence is available
Lead the team to support the commercial initiatives of the business by ensuring all products and associated packaging and manuals meet quality, legal and safety requirements
Maintain, develop and train a team who are equipped to engage current and future challenges
Maintain effective working relationships with related internal stakeholders and actively contribute to ensure that the triangular teams between Sourcing, QA (and CSR) and SC execute according to expectation
Develop and maintain relationship with external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers and third party inspection and testing service providers
